Keep It Spinning
A downloadable game for Windows
Known Bugs
- Every now and then, one of your records thrown will just stop in place in front of you without being launched. I genuinely have no idea how to fix this, but I'll see what I can do sometime afterward.
- The animations for the boss can be a bit wack at times, not properly matching what attack they're doing.
- The audio for the speaker on the right on the Audiophile boss is too quiet. Again, i have no idea what's causing this, but I'll try to fix it later on.
Description
Great going, bro. Because of your recent hobby of vinyl as a medium of music, you just put a target on your back from both people who love vinyl as much as you do, and ones who are completely against it.
In this game, you have to fight against three one boss in order to protect you and your precious records (by chucking them like a frisbee at said boss), on top of preventing the one currently playing from breaking. Can you keep the beat going?
This game was made for the Boss Rush Jam 2025 with the theme being "Spin". I was planning on adding three bosses, but due to time I was only able to get one out. After this jam is fully over, I'll try to add the other two bosses, on top of some other stuff.
I'm submitting this game now so I can get feedback from others to make the game even better afterward and have a minuscule chance of winning that green stuff (i am not winning this lmao)
Tutorial
Objective
Defeat the boss in front of you by chucking records like frisbees at them, depleting their health bar.
Controls
Hold down Left Mouse to charge up a record to be thrown at the boss.
Use the Right Mouse to use an album cover as your shield to deflect attacks.
Hold down Ctrl to crouch, and release to get back up.
Health
You have two health bars: one for you (the player) and the other for your record player.
Normally, the player's health bar would be reduced when attacked.
However, while crouching, your record player is vulnerable and will be hit instead.
Attacks that force you to crouch to dodge it won't attack your record player.
Scoring
- Earn more points by hitting the boss with more powerful attacks.
- You can also earn some points by bouncing the record off of a wall and hitting the boss
- Throwing your record to the beat of the song playing will also earn you points (but isn't necessary)
- However, getting hit in any way will take away a few points.
